Tortoise Energy Infrastructure Corp. is a closed-end investment company investing primarily in equity securities of publicly-traded Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and their affiliates in the energy infrastructure sector. It seeks a high level of total return. Energy infrastructure MLPs are engaged in the transportation, storage and processing of crude oil, natural gas and refined products from production points to the end users. Its investments are primarily in mid-stream (mostly pipeline) operations, which typically produce steady cash flows with less exposure to commodity prices than many alternative investments in the broader energy industry. Tortoise Capital Advisors, L.L.C. acts as an investment advisor of the Company. In June 2014, Tortoise Capital Advisors, L.L.C. announced that it has completed the merger of Tortoise Energy Infrastructure Corp. (TYG), Tortoise Energy Capital Corp. (TYY) and Tortoise North American Energy Corp. (TYN).
