Tortoise MLP Fund, Inc. is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Company�s investment objective is to seek a high level of total return with an emphasis on current distributions paid to stockholders. The Company seeks to provide its stockholders with a vehicle to invest in the energy infrastructure sector, with focus on natural gas infrastructure. Under normal circumstances, the Company invests at least 80% of its total assets in master limited partnerships (MLP) equity securities with at least 70% of total assets in natural gas infrastructure MLP equity securities. Of the total assets in the fund, it may invest as much as 50% in restricted securities, primarily through direct investments in securities of listed companies. The Company does not invest in privately held companies and limit its investment in any one security to 10%. Tortoise Capital Advisors, L.L.C. serves as its investment adviser.
