Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (Argo Group) is an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in the property and casualty market. During the year ended December 31, 2012, the Company operated in four business segments: Excess and Surplus Lines, Commercial Specialty, International Specialty and Syndicate 1200. Additionally, it has a Run-off Lines segment for products that it no longer underwrite. In September 2012, the Company�s subsidiary, Alteris Inc acquired Sonoma Risk Insurance Agency. In October 2012, the Company�s subsidiary, Alteris Insurance Services, Inc. acquired the operating assets and business rights of specialty program manager Mattei Insurance Services, Inc.
