Satang Jaya Sdn Bhd (Satang), the main subsidiary of the Satang Holdings Berhad was formed in 1991 and started its business in supplying aviation tools, spare parts and acting as representatives for OEMs of the defence, aviation and aerospace industry. Subsequently in 1999, it expanded its business into providing support services such as maintenance, repair and overhaul ("MRO") of safety and survival equipment for the aviation and aerospace industry as a result of the "contractorisation" programme introduced by the Ministry of Defence. Under this programme, Satang was appointed to provide MRO services of safety and survival equipment and its related accessories for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). It has also expanded its services to Royal Malaysian Navy, Army Aviation Wing, other government agencies as well as private sectors. At present, Satang is operating the following workshops; Safety & Rescue, Ejection Seat Maintenance, Ground Support Equipment, Mechatronic and Cylinder Workshops located all over the country. Being certified ISO 9001-2008 business operation, its facilities are equipped with sophisticated machines and tools manned by qualified and highly-skilled engineers and technicians who adhere strictly to the standards set by the respective Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) which licensed them. Satang, through its subsidiary Satang Dagangan Sdn Bhd is also engaged in supplying defence and aviation equipment and accessories under the following categories; safety & survival equipment (land, Air & Sea), Aircrew Emergency escape system, electro-mechanical equipment, electronics and optronics equipment, armament (explosive, missile, bomb & weapon system), fire fighting apparel, decompression chamber, aircraft parts, runflat system and DPD (Divers' Propeller Device).
