Parkson Holdings Berhad (Parkson) was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1965 on 26 August 1982 as a private limited liability company under the name of Amalgamated Cement Mills Sdn Bhd. On 27 August 1988, it changed its name to Amalgamated Containers Sdn Bhd. It was converted to a public company on 17 August 1992 and assumed its present name on 19 September 2007. Parkson was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 28 October 1993. It is currently the leading regional retail player in the People's Republic of China, Vietnam and Malaysia with its chain of 89 Parkson department stores, with 36 in Malaysia, 46 in China, and 7 in Vietnam.
