The corporate history of OSK Holdings Berhad is characterized by over 40 years of remarkable growth and expansion. The Group has been an integral part of Malaysia's growth and is today, one of the acknowledged leaders in the business, with a name synonymous with financial strength and high quality service. The company first commenced operations in 1963 under the name of OSK & Partners. With the addition of custodian services in 1965, the company's activities began to grow both in depth and in breadth of services to include all aspects of stockbroking. OSK & Partners became a private unlimited company in 1973, achieving the status of a private limited company in 1981. This is only a precursor to greater things in store. In 1990, OSK Holdings Berhad was incorporated under a restructuring exercise for the floatation of the OSK Group on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. OSK Holdings Berhad was subsequently listed on 31 May 1991. To better reflect its corporate image and expanded activities, OSK & Partners Sdn Bhd underwent a name change to OSK Securities Berhad in January 1996. While operating solely as a stockbroking firm, OSK is swift to respond to the unfolding opportunities in the rapidly changing and expanding securities industry to increase its productivity and efficiency and ultimately, achieve further growth.
