MYTC Trading Competition Platform
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The following terms and conditions shall apply to the "Malaysia Youth Trading Championship (MYTC)" organized by Bursa Young Investor Club (BYIC) of TAR UMT with the associated platform “InvestingNote”.
NOTE: Participants must abide by all rules, regulations, and restrictions stated by InvestingNote and MYTC.
1. Campaign Period
1.1 The Campaign will start on the trading hours on 20 March 2023 and it will end at the close of trading hours on 7 April 2023.
1.2 The Campaign may be withdrawn earlier by the organiser at any time without prior notice.
2. Campaign Rules and Regulations
2.1 Participants are required to download the "InvestingNote" app or online website to conduct their trading.
2.2 Participants must use their own accounts to log into the apps, and only one account will be granted to each party.
2.3 All participants are required to open an investment account with Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad before the start of the trading competition. All prizes will be ONLY reflected in the participants' KenTrade accounts at the end of trading competition. (https://dco.kenanga.com.my/create-account/open-account-overview/EB)
2.4 All participants are required to join the Master Group using the Discord app to get the latest news announced by the Committee. Participants with any questions can directly find their own exclusive Investor Relations (IR) to uncover doubts.
3. Eligibility and Entry
3.1 Only individuals who are currently university students are eligible for this simulation. Form 6 students may only participate in this trading competition if they team up with a university student as the team leader.
3.2 To participate in this trading competition, participants are required to register for the competition on InvestingNote’s platform. (https://www.investingnote.com/simulation_campaigns/mytc-2023)
3.3 Upon registration, participants will be confirmed upon receiving a notification via email. All registered participants are required to register an InvestingNote account (FOC) to participate in the Stock Trading Simulation Challenge. Further introduction and details on the InvestingNote platform will be provided by the Organiser.
4. Trading Competition Details
4.1 Participants are required to build a simulated investment portfolio with a virtual initial capital. We will be providing virtual capital of one hundred thousand Ringgit Malaysia (RM 100,000) through trading predefined securities products listed on Bursa Malaysia within the Campaign Period.
4.1.1 Every trade is subject to a commission rate of 0.08% or a min. commission of RM8 per trade.
4.2 Only STOCKS / SHARES listed in Bursa Malaysia will be available to trade throughout the Campaign.
4.2.1 Only equities are available (excluded: REITS, warrants, bonds, index)
4.2.2 Any stocks RM0.05 and below will be removed from our end. (Cut off date: 13th March 2023)
4.2.3 No odd lot may be traded, no short selling is allowed, & no margin account is allowed.
4.3 Each team is only eligible for one (1) virtual trading account. Any team who creates more than one (1) account shall be considered in breach of the competition Terms & Conditions and shall be disqualified from the Stock Trading Simulation.
4.4 There will be NO restrictions on the number of trades and No constraints on trading methods during the trading competition.
4.5 Other relevant platforms for technical analysis and obtaining recent market news, and information, such as Yahoo Finance, Bursa Malaysia, and TradingView, are allowed. However, the trades should be made on InvestingNote's official website (https://www.investingnote.com). Any trades completed and made outside the InvestingNote platform are not entertained, regardless of the profit.
4.6 Trading is by market order only. Participants will have to monitor the market activity to buy and sell. No advanced limit/stop order is allowed.
4.7 The challenge trading hours on trading days are listed below:
4.7.1 Bursa 1st session (9:00:30am – 12:29:30pm)
4.7.2 Bursa 2nd session (2:30:30pm – 4.44:30pm)
4.7.3 The challenge trading hours will be adjusted for 30 seconds to cater for the pre-market open matching period.
4.8 Dividend and stock split/bonus issues (if any) will be taken into consideration. Any dividend income will be payable to the participants’ virtual account based on the ex-dividend date. This Campaign does not support IPO subscriptions, rights issues, or additional issuance.
4.8.1 In case of any rights, warrants, or bonus shares issued by the listed company, participants need to close their position before the issue.
4.9 In the event that any securities products in the participant’s portfolio are suspended and halted at any point in time during the Campaign Period, the holdings of these securities will be calculated based on the last traded value.
4.10 During the Campaign Period, a leaderboard showing the most updated results of participants will be shown on InvestingNote's simulation platform. The leaderboard will be updated on a daily basis.
4.11 During the Campaign period, the participants’ portfolios will be set to ‘public’ and will be visible to external visitors.
4.11.1 All Participants' traded data will be reflected on their own InvestingNote Accounts.
4.12 At the end of the Campaign, all open positions will be automatically closed by InvestingNote.
4.13 The Final score that determines the winners’ ranking will be a combined score of 80% from the competition and 20% from the sharing session. The participants with the higher score will be the ranked winners of the trading competition.
4.14 The organiser reserves the right, at any time, to reverse, modify or update any rules in the Malaysia Youth Trading Championship.
4.15 The organiser reserves the right, at any time, to reverse, modify or update any transaction in the InvestingNote stimulation platform placed by participants as it deems fit.
5. Marking scheme / Prize
5.1 The trading competition's winners will be revealed during the closing ceremony.
5.2 All of the scores will be determined based on the players' trading and investment gains and losses.
5.3 The grading criterion for the top winner' teams will be broken down into strategy sharing (20%) and profit and loss ratio (80%).
5.4 Daily, weekly, and all-time highest profit and loss categories will each get prizes.
5.4.1 The daily highest realised P&L will receive RM150 followed by RM100 and RM50. (Daily winners will be calculated by profit percentage)
5.4.2 The highest realised P&L for the given week will be awarded RM500 followed by RM300 and RM100. (Weekly winner will be calculated by profit percentage)
5.4.3 The highest realised P&L of all time (including 80% P&L and 20% Strategy Sharing) will be calculated by profit amount.
5.5 Criteria for entitlement of Weekly Prizes and All Time Prizes:
5.5.1 Weekly prizes will be entitle to teams that trade at least 3 transactions in a week.
5.5.2 All Time prizes will be entitle to teams that trade at least 9 transactions in the whole Campaign period.
5.5 The participant with the highest turnover rate during the Campaign will be awarded RM1,000 followed by RM700 and RM400. (Turnover rate= (Highest P&L all time – Lowest P&L all time)/ Lowest P&L all time *100%)
5.6 A further RM30 will be given to each of the top 10 Daily Quest participants who provided the fastest and most accurate response. (RM300 x 15 days = total prizes of RM4,500)
5.7 All prizes will be transferred to the designated participant's account, the investment account of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad.
6. Winner and Prizes for Competition
6.1 In order to be eligible ‘winners’, participants must send over their real identity details.
6.2 The ranking of the leaderboard will be based on the simulated investment portfolio with the most capital gains at the end of the trading competition (5 PM, 7th April 2023). Only realised profits will be taken into account at the end of the Simulation Challenge. In the case of any open positions not closed out by the end of the trading competition, the last stock price will be used to calculate the gain/loss for each respective position.
6.3 Prizes are not transferable, and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for any other item.
6.4 Prizes are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of the organiser and any changes shall be final and binding upon every participant.
6.5 The announcement of winners will be announced on 15th April 2023. All respective prize winners will be contacted via email.
6.6 The organisers are not responsible for any prize losses or claims caused by an error in the entry of personal particulars.
6.7 The organisers make no representation or warranty of the quality of the prizes and assume no liability or responsibility for any defects or non-performance of the prizes.
7. General Terms and Conditions
7.1 Organizers will not be held liable or responsible for any late, misdirected, lost or unsuccessful efforts to notify the Recipients or to issue the Rewards. The organizer shall have no liability for any Recipients’ failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings, email services and/or interruption in the internet connection or any disruption or failure in other means of communication or despatch to the Recipients which is not within the control of the organizer.
7.2 Any form of abuse, hacks or cheating is strongly prohibited. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches the Terms and Conditions. The organiser further reserves the right to award prizes to the next best eligible participant in the event that any persons who are disqualified or ineligible are placed in the prize-winning positions.
7.3 By participating in the Campaign, all participants are deemed to have given their consent that participants acknowledge and agree that webinars and other presentations during the Campaign may contain information or content from third-party sources or the views of third-party individuals or entities. MYTC and InvestingNote have not independently verified such third-party content or views.
7.4 The participant hereby confirms, represents and warrants that such participant is not and will not be in breach of any law in such participant’s country of residence or other applicable law regarding the legality of entering into and participating in the Campaign. The organiser, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, service providers and their respective employees, officers, agents and representatives, shall not be responsible or liable for the participants in the Campaign in breach of such laws. Each participant is advised to check and seek relevant advice on the applicable laws before participating in the Campaign.
7.5 The organiser reserves the right to postpone, withdraw and cancel the Campaign at any time without prior notice. The organiser further reserves the right to change, amend or withdraw the Terms and Conditions without further notice.
