About Hock Meng Tay
I opened my first Central Depository Account in 1997 shortly after I enrolled in polytechnic and after completing my national service. My first stock was Del Monte. Slowly I took on other stock names and have grown my stock portfolio to a modest five digit figure. I tend to analyse the stocks' fundamentals, followed by confirmation with the technicals.
I dabbled into US stocks in 2004 after joining a hedge fund company in US trading US stocks. I was an analyst then trying to piece together financials and spreadsheet valuations for the companies. I got a hand on technical analysis when my manager showed me several S&P 500 charts, and trends. I am soon fascinated by US stocks.
Currently, I am actively investing in US ETFs, and local domiciled stocks. I do have some Hong Kong, Malaysian, and Indonesian stocks. I hope to learn as much as possible from others in the community.
On myself, I personally have two master degrees, and one bachelors degree in finance. I am currently a financial advisory consultant with Phillip Securities, and will soon get my trading representative license. I hope to expand my network and hopefully build on leads.
