About Li Guang Sheng
Li Guang Sheng stands as a unique figure in the world of trading, aligning himself with an unorthodox belief system that places 90% reliance on fundamental analysis and a mere 10% on technical scrutiny. Beginning his illustrious journey in 2006, Li found mentorship in the wisdom of his clients, absorbing the rich ethos of value investing with a particular focus on intrinsic value and dividend yield. It is to these discerning individuals, some of whom have since retired early yet continue to thrive on their prior investments, that he attributes the bedrock of his financial acumen.
His talents swiftly found recognition, as he clinched the 2nd rank in the prestigious Yahoo! Finance Gazillionaire Trading competition in 2010. Far from a fleeting triumph, Li has consistently maintained his position among the top 10 luminaries in various trading competitions for over a decade.
In an era that was still grappling with the nuances of client-directed financial trading, Li emerged as a pioneer coach within Phillip CFD. His dedication to one-on-one coaching led to him being conferred the title of "Top CFD Specialist" in 2015. Since 2011, he has actively mentored new Trading Representatives, earning the distinction of "Best Mentor" from Phillip Securities in both 2014 and 2016. His contributions extend to the realm of Rotary work, where he was felicitated as the Outstanding Assistant Governor in 2013/14, and the Most Outstanding Young Rotarian D3310 for 2015/16.
With appearances on television and in Edge Magazine, as well as numerous investment talks and career seminars to his credit, Li’s influence spans various media. Yet, in recent years, he has chosen to embrace a low profile on social media, redirecting his energies toward charity endeavors to uplift the disadvantaged. He is currently active on Investingnote, 958 and 963(radio station).
He is also very involved in charity as he believes in giving back to society once he established his career. He was the President for Rotary Club of Shenton 2009-2011, Assistant Governor for Rotary District 3310 in 2013/14. He served five years formerly as a board of director in Foundation of Rotary Clubs Singapore from 2010-2015. He has held position as Past District Rotaract D3310 Chairperson, Past District D3310 Youth Service Chairperson and Past District D3310 Young Rotarian Taskforce Chairperson.and Past District 3310 Rotary Alumni Chairperson, and Past Vice Chairman and Treasurer for Rotary Family Service Centre in Clementi. Due to poor health, he is slowly stepping down hence relinquish above key roles as he could no longer cope.
Li's philanthropic spirit is a cornerstone of his character. Having attained professional success, he passionately invests in giving back to society. As President for Rotary Club of Shenton from 2009 to 2011, and Assistant Governor for Rotary District 3310 in 2013/14, he has been a driving force in various Rotary roles. Despite health challenges leading him to step back from certain key positions, his commitment to service remains undiminished.
Currently, he holds positions as Vice Chairman for Hume RN, Treasurer for Society of Remisier (Singapore), and Secretary for Rotary Club of Shenton. Additionally, he has embraced the role of President for Project Starfish, a compassionate initiative aimed at aiding school dropouts in resuming their education.
He graduated from NUS with a Bachelor in Arts and Social Sciences (Economics) with Merit. Also attain ACLP certificate to train others. He joined the stock broking industry in 2006 and serves different pool of clients. Among his clients include retail investors, private companies, clan association, listed company doing share buyback, hedge funds, CEO/CFO of big listed companies. He also brokers deals on equities, private placement, IPO, bonds, private financing and fund investment. He is currently given the title of Principal Investment Specialist, Phillip Securities.
He has no blog or website as he does not advocate trading on a frequent basis as he himself is not a firm believer in punting. His main Philosophy for buying stock is "Keep It Simple" and focus on fundamental. Before investing in the stock, one should be comfortable with the yield if the price drops.
He is willing to teach those who want to learn. Reason is he was taught by his clients and he is grateful to them. He wishes to use this InvestingNote platform to educate others on what he has learnt.
